Why start with Tbilisi when visiting Georgia.

Tbilisi, founded in the fifth century by Vakhtang I, is the biggest, capital city in Georgia. An ideal intersection of its old, traditional visual (referred to as Old Tbilisi), alongside fulfilling its potential as a modern city.

There are many reasons to visit the city, here would be some of them you might be interested in.

Rich Nightlife

Whether you're interested in clubbing, having a glass of red wine over a magical view or a long night walk - Tbilisi can kick in either of them. After a day of exploration, at night time, suit yourself with the relaxation you feel is best for you.

Old Tbilisi

Interested as to what Tbilisi looked like a century or two ago? Well, you can literally travel in time as to what this historical city looked like at that time. Old Tbilisi, or here referred to as "Dzveli Tbilisi", is a large area consisting of traditional Tbilisi houses, snaking lanes and a famous restaurant-lined Jan Shardeni Street. Mostly where you would want to roam, explore and spend your night time.

Unique Cuisine

In Georgia, every meal is considered as a form of feast. There are different dishes in different regions, for example - Khachapuri, a cheese bread, which is different between an Adjarian and Imeretian one. Tbilisi is a worthy capital, where you can taste all types of unique dishes of different regions, without having to leave the city.

Museums

There are over 15 museums within the city. A great start would be the classics - The National Museum, Museum of Art and a History Museum. These would be a great start to realize what a fascinating past surrounds Tbilisi, Georgia and would be great to paint a picture of the city. Including the Museum given on an illustration above - Tbilisi Open Air Museum of Ethnography - a home to Georgian folk culture.

Thermal Baths

The Abanotubani district is famous for thermal baths. Baths are followed in Persian tradition, allowing hot, sulphurous water to bubble up naturally. A 15-minute soak in a hot bath, followed by a scrub, massage and an ice-cold rinse could change your day, if you let it.

Aside all this, there are more reasons to kick off exploring Georgia from Tbilisi.
